The witty antics of opera's most famous barber are highlighted here in a sparkling new production designed by Dipu Gupta. Come and be charmed, delighted and seduced by Rosina and the Count's quest for love in a presentation made even more charming by the intimate setting of the Irvine Barclay Theater. Linda Brovsky, who directed our La Traviata in 1999, oversees this production which promises to be a season highlight.
Dead Man Walking's John Packard portrays the wily barber Figaro; and Orange County's own Met stars, Lynette Tapia and John Osborn, are Rosina and the Count. |
