“Salome is simply one of the most powerful musical scores in all of opera. Extending Opera Pacific's repertoire with this smoldering piece is a personal highlight for me.” ~ Maestro John DeMain

Salome, the temptress who hedonistically demands the head of John the Baptist in exchange for her dancing, embodies sensuality, sexuality, and willful indulgence. Come watch this stunning new production unveil in what promises to be one of the most exciting events of the opera season. The collaboration of director Ian Judge and designer Tim Goodchild, ensures that this new production will bring a fresh, if not controversial edge to this powerful piece. The production features Norweigan soprano Turid Karlsen and American soprano Nina Warren as the provocative Salome, alongside Christopher Robertson, last season's Rigoletto, as John the Baptist. Milena Kitic debuts as the evil mother, Herodias, as John DeMain leads the Opera Pacific Orchestra in this spectacular one-act score.
