Giacomo Puccini

November 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th - 2002
In Italian with English Supertitles
First Premiered: Teatro Regio, Turin, February 1, 1896
“The romantic allure of La Bohème with Puccini's glorious lyricism is as fresh in the minds and hearts of audiences today as ever.” ~ Maestro John DeMain

With cold hands, warm hearts, and empty pockets, Mimi and Rodolfo still seem to find undying love in Puccini's beloved masterpiece. From high spirits to tragic illness, La Bohème is full of melodies that have delighted and moved audiences for over a century. Join a vivacious young cast including Orange County's own Robin Follman alternating with Resident Artist Rachel Cobb, as the brave and loving Mimi. Also, the exciting debut of the wonderful Ukranian tenor, Misha Didyk, alternating with the popular American tenor, Scott Piper, as the ardent poet, Rodolfo. New York City Opera's own Anita Johnson joins us as the flirtatious Musetta, and Opera Pacific favorite Frank Hernandez as her stormy lover, Marcello. Kyle Ketelson, is sure to win our hearts as the young philosopher, Colline. Bernard Uzan directs this beautiful production originally
created for the Canadian Opera Company. Maestro John DeMain conducts.
