Set at the seaside in beautiful 18th century Naples, this classic Mozart comedy explores the timeless questions of love and fidelity. The plot unfolds as Gugliemo and Ferrando test the allegiance of their fiancées, Fiordiligi and Dorabella. With sublime music that underscores the emotional depths and lightens the comedic interplay, prepare for a night of boisterously entertaining comedy complete with romance, mayhem and dupery. Pamela Armstrong (Don Giovanni 2002) and Kristine Jepson (Dead Man Walking 2002), both now appearing regularly at the Metropolitan Opera, return to Opera Pacific as the tempted yet earnest sisters Fiordiligi and Dorabella. Bernard Uzan (La bohème 2002) returns to direct this production created by the late Jean-Pierre Ponnelle.
Conducted by John DeMain.
