"Having had the privilege of working with Leonard Bernstein, it is an honor to premier this musical treasure here at Opera Pacific. This glittering score achieved cult status immediately after its premiere. This one's for you, Lenny!" ~ Maestro John DeMain

Enter a world of fantasy and imagination as we present the tale of Candide. Bernstein’s immensely popular opera unfolds with a sumptuous and steadily beautiful score that includes highlights of the American operatic repertoire such as: “Glitter and be Gay,” “Make Our Garden Grow,” and “Oh, Happy We." Laura Claycomb (Festa Italiana 2000) makes her long-awaited debut on the main-stage as Cunegonde and David Miller (The Magic Flute 2000), back from his stunning success in the role of Rodolfo in Baz Luhrmann’s Broadway La bohème, appears as the witty Candide.

Conducted by John DeMain.

Directed by Jeffrey Lentz.
