Life insurance gifts represent a convenient way for a donor to make a significant gift at a lesser expense. Life insurance that a donor no longer needs for his/her family's security may be an attractive asset to donate to Opera Pacific.
When making a life insurance gift to a non-profit organization such as Opera Pacific, donors benefit from immediate income tax deduction for the gift's value as well as possible future estate tax savings. Donors who also make annual gifts to Opera Pacific to cover the cost of subsequent premium payments to maintain the policy can deduct those gifts as well.
A life insurance gift is made by naming Opera Pacific as a beneficiary of a new or existing policy for all or a portion of the proceeds. Changing a beneficiary on an existing policy simply requires completing the forms provided by the insurance company.
